You can choose any tax-deductible organization registered with the IRS or any organization to which MyCause can make tax-deductible donations, including schools, libraries, and religious organizations such as churches, synagogues, schools, etc. If you don't find your organization searching by name, you might try searching by the tax identification number (EIN) which you can obtain directly from the organization. If you can't find the organization, write to us with the name or any other information you have. We'll help you locate the cause on MyCause, or we'll see about adding it to our list.

Religious organizations, schools, libraries, other publicly funded organizations, and organizations which are part of a larger organizations, such as departments within universities, are not required to register with the IRS. If you would like to support such an organization through MyCause, here's how to request an addition to MyCause. Give us the name and street address along with any helpful identifying information, and we will attempt to verify the status of the organization. We will notify you when it is in our database so that you and your friends can support it.

In general, organizations engaging in government lobbying are not tax-deductible, as per US tax laws. As a rule, MyCause excludes non-tax-deductible organizations; we may include non-tax-deductible organizations at our discretion. Also note that lobbying organizations often do have a separate branch or foundation that is tax-deductible which is already available at MyCause.

MyCause.com does not wait to receive funds from Internet vendors before making donations.
